Picture File Formats

EasyShare software supports the following file formats.

u Still pictures can be any of the following.

u BMP (Windows Bitmap). Images formed by a series of dots. Typical of paint programs that treat images as collections of dots rather than shapes. Bit-mapped images displayed in color require several to many bits per pixel, each describing some aspect of the color in a single spot on the screen.

u JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group). File extensions JPG, JPE, and JPEG. Compresses image data, discarding extra data not essential to the display of the image. Most Mac OS and Windows image editing applications can read JPEG images.

u TIFF (Tag Image File Format). File extensions TIF and TIFF. Standard file format used for exchanging images between applications and different computer platforms. Most Mac OS and Windows image editing and some word processing applications can read TIFF images.

u Movies. File extensions MOV, AVI, and MPG. Movies taken by the camera or movies you created.
